We have all heard Nantucket is expensive, but...... For $800 a night, we got a tiny room, basically, a bed, and enough room to walk around it. Even the TV was wall mounted as there was no room to put it. No bath, and no fridge. The hotel has the 'famous' Toppers restaurant, and as hotel guests we always felt... more

The Wauwinet has the best location on Nantucket. To your right you can touch a widesweep of the Atlantic and in front of you are the calm waters of Nantucket Bay. It is a perfect spot and a somewhat magical place. (it was also late May and there were not many people around) We went on the jeep trip to... more

My husband and I just returned from a long weekend at the Wauwinet to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I can't say enough about the superb service and memorable weekend we experienced. In season, this is an extremely pricey property but there is no question that you get what you pay for. Concierge level accommodations at many four star properties (including... more

My 7 month pregnant wife needed a break and we found one at the Wauwinet. We were very happy here. Everyone on staff was as nice as could be and seemed to know what we were up to and was interested in making sure we were happy. We also didn't get the sense that people were tip hungry which was... more

FABULOUS!!!!! Saw the Wauwinet on the travel channel. Stayed 3 nights & did not want to leave. The staff is wonderful. So many things are complimentary including the gourmet breakfast in Toppers Restaurant. Go in spring or fall for a great discounted rate. We travel alot & have stayed at great hotels. This is the first time we planned a... more

From the outset I must say that I am partial to Wauwinet if for no other reason than its location and solitude... but there are so many other reasons to LOVE Wauwinet. First off, the staff really does take the time and make the effort to make you feel truely "At Home". Each time I visit I get the feeling... more

My husband and I just returned from our fabulous anniversary trip to the Wauwinet. The location is beautiful - between the beach and the bay - and the inn oozes classic New England charm (expect cozy!). Try to visit during the "Taste of Nantucket" (Spring and Fall) when special excursions are included as part of your room rate. The Great... more

This is probably the most stuffy, snobby and obnoxious place I have ever visited, and I have been to very nice hotels all over the world. They seem to have the belief here that the "swells" who visit will like the place all the more if the atmosphere is pretentious and overbearing. If that's your thing, this is the place.... more

For those looking for a quiet place where "everybody knows your name.....and knows you want some peace and quiet" this is the place! Located a good jitney ride away from Nantucket town center, the lovely little inn is the epitome of quiet and understated elegance. From the wonderful meals at Topper's to the special popcorn with your in room movies... more

The Wauwinet is quiet and beautiful gem among the finer country inns. It occupies a serene and wildly beautiful spit of land between Nantucket Bay and the Atlantic shore. The inn marks the end of the road; only a sand two-track ventures past it into the dunes of the penninsula beyond. The grounds are beautiful, the beds soft as clouds,... more
