I stayed at the 76 Main a few months ago while visiting Nantucket for a conference. The inn is an old home and it seemed to be in pretty good condition overall. The owner (David) is quite rude and disrespectful. He has a LONG list of do-nots as soon as you enter the home. From the minute we entered the door - we should have run the other way. He treated as if we were children - we listened to a complete lecture of what we could and what we couldn't do.... more

Lovely location....lovely home...while I can understand Innkeeper wanting to keep his historic home clean and perfect...as a fellow B&B owner, I think that the owner/Innkeeper needs to lighten up a bit as people are on vacation and don't want to have a bunch of rules shoved down their throat...nor do they want to feel as if they are being watched... more

Spooky, creepy and a lousy B&B awaits the foolhardy that go here. I'll admit the rate was tempting compared to other places that were over 400.00. However, GET A SECOND JOB! and go elsewhere! Nantucket typically takes a while to get to so you have no doubt driven, or taken a ferry or even flown for hours to get there.... more

Very charming B and B located in the heart of downtown. HOWEVER, the owner, is clearly in the wrong business. He greets his guests with a lengthy "tour" that consists of among other things, about twenty do's and do not's... I turned to my girlfriend and suggested taking notes.
