The Diocletian Rooms have an amazing location, right at the centre of the tourist sites and in the most amazing part of Split. They are located immediately opposite Diocletian's Mausoleum, now the cathedral with its later tower, within the walls of Diocletian's old palace. Step out of the front door and you are immediately immersed in the Old Town, with its narrow stone alleyways. Walk through the Palace cellars to exit the gate facing the sea and you are on the modern promenade, full of restaurants, and snack shops where you can grab a bite for breakfast and eat it watching the sea. And it's just a five-ten minute walk to the bus station and ferry terminal, making trips to Brac and Hvar easy.
The rooms themselves have been recently refurbished and are of a high quality. We had the top floor apartment, which had the big advantage of a balcony overlooking the Cathedral; this did though make for a smaller room, and the bathroom was also small, so some may prefer the lower...
