I think that this hostel deserves the Lonely Planet stamp of approval for ambiance. The staff was awesome and so were the other guests. The free internet in the common area was great. Not so great however was the fact that we had to climb about 5 flights of stairs to get to the hostel. I would not recommend staying in the Old City of Dubrovnik to anyone who has problems with stairs or who has particularly heavy luggage. In addition to this, BEWARE Fresh Sheets outsources all "private" rooms to local residents. While this is probably great for some people, this was not the case for us as we then had to deal with the passing by the two owners and their cat sleeping in the kitchen en route to the bathroom. That being said, the price was reasonable. Due to the twenty minutes of stair climbing and complicated directions to the hostel, I would not recommend it solely on the basis of location. more
