We picked Croatia hoping it would be cheaper than anywhere in t he Euro zone. It wasn't it was roughly the same as in the UK. However for the price we paid the hotel was good value and the infinity pool was amazing. The buffet breakfast and evening meal was aimed at the French/German/Italian pallet. My husband enjoyed eating as much as he liked but for me chips every night was not ideal but if you're not fussy you'll be fine. The bus into Dubrovnik is only 10 kuna (just over £1 bus stop is at the top of the hill, but there is a bus less frequent from the hotel for 12 kuna) We also got the small boat to Cavtat (200 kuna retur) from the jetty near the hotel (this is also available into Dubrovnik) Plat is OK for a restful holiday but nothing to do in the evening other thanthe hotel bar or a small bar further along the coast so if you want nightlife or walks in the evening this is not the place for you.
