Stayed at Hotel Tirena with friends as part of Travel Dept tour from Dublin. Was apprehensive having read some of the reviews on Trip Advisor but was very pleasantly surprised. We had requested connecting rooms with balconies at time of booking and were delighted to find had both on checking in. Breakfast and dinner were buffet-style and had something to... more

The room was nice and clean, the pool -ok, the breakfast was profuse and tasteful. more

Had a 2 night stay as part of a Cosmos tour and we were "lucky" to get a room facing the car park but at least away from the "music". Usual room but claen sheets and towels. Excellent buffet breakfast but staff not very cheerful. Poor location for visiting the old city in Dubrovnik. more

Unfortunately my main memory of this hotel is the hideous, deafening oompah-pah music that blares into your room each and every night until 11pm. Whilst this is fine if you're out and about, I was on a tour that had early morning wake ups and didn't want to be up at this hour, so it really ruined my stay. Having... more

Loved this hotel, staff where friendly on arrival, room was spotless, pool was great. restuarants and shops at hotel - Couldn't ask for much more!! Buffet breakfast was lovely, a lot to choose from! Buses run from outside hotel every 15mins to take you into the old town (Beware though, they pack you in like sardines!) Nightlife was also good... more

Be sure to get a room with a balcony, nice to sit there at any time of the day. Great breakfast buffet, one of the best I've experienced. Nice pool area. Three beaches nearby, the best and cheapest (as they all charge for sunbeds and parasols) is just below the Hotel President - 10 minutes walk from Tirena. Bus service... more

We stayed for 4 nights and picked Tirena because of previous good reviews and the presence of the swimming pool. Unfortunately, due to ongoing construction work at the neighbouring hotel the pool was closed, although there were arrangements to allow use of a pool at a near hotel which was very good, if a 5 minute walk away . Our... more

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a group tour. The rooms are adequate and clean, as is the bathroom. The hotel restaurant serves OK food, but lots of tour groups stay here, so get to breakfast early! Otherwise, all the good food runs out and they're slow to refill/replace what's gone. The staff at the front desk aren't... more

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Hotel Tirena with very mixed feelings. Trip Advisor recommendations are usually very good but this one was a little disappointing...but not really bad. The hotel is a typical modern concrete hotel which doesn't look very appealing. There is no adjoining beach or garden for relaxation, just a rather depressing, partly occupied 'shopping... more

This place was OK but surprisingly expensive for what it was. It cost us $350 for 2 nights though I guess you may be able to get it cheaper. I'm surprised in a way it gets so many good reviews. Fairly east to get to the old town using the No. 6 bus taking about 20 mins. Pretty good breakfast... more
