My wife took me to Dubrovnik as a 50th birthday present, and if it hadn't been a surprise it would have lived up to all my expectations! We stayed at the Stari Grad Hotel in the old town for two nights, the highlight being the roof terrace breakfasts. We planned to drive up to Mostar and then down to Kotor,... more

This is only one of two hotels within the walls of medieval Dubrovnik. If you want to be surrounded by history Hotel Stari Grad is a good choice. It is located on a narrow walkway right off the Stradum, which is the white marbled main! The hotel once was an aristocratic home now converted to hotel use; the rooms are... more

Had 1 night here, and felt we had wasted our money! Room was fine, reception was not particularly friendly though. Breakfast good. For the price, we should have stayed in Lapad, and caught the no 6 bus in to town. This was very reasonable, and very frequent. The town during the day is totally overwhelmed with people, especially from the... more

This 8 room air conditioned hotel is located in the center of the historical walled city. There is a roof top terrace that was wonderful for views of the city. Breakfast included yogurt, dried cereal, breads, fruit, juice, etc and was served on the roof top terrace, weather permitting. We took a break each day when it got too hot... more

A great find, lovely to sit on the terrace any time in the day and watch the city. Lots of narrow stairs but well worth it. Excellent breakfast with beautiful views. The rooms were cool and comfortable with great showers. We had our two children aged 9 and 7 with us and we all had a fab time. more

As many others have said, one of the main advantages is that this is in the Old Town, most of the others being a bus ride away. We had room 402, and to counter others opinions it is not noisy, if you have the windows shut and the very quiet Air Con on. Relativley expensive, and so is all Dubrovnik,... more

The location is splendid - right in the middle of the old town in a narrow street - and it's a lovely old building, beautifully converted. It won't do, however, for people who can't climb stairs or for those who object to carrying their own luggage a short way from the old town gate (no cars allowed). The rooms are... more

Unbeatable location (as other reviewers have noted, it's one of only two hotels in the city). The single room is a decent size, for a European hotel, and is very clean; the breakfast is excellent; the staff is very friendly; and the unique hotel terrace gives you a panoramic view of the city that rivals the view from the city... more

The Stari Grad has a terrific location right inside the old city walls (one of only 2 hotels in the old town). Staff were very helpful beforehand in emails advising us on parking, so there was absolutely no problem arriving there. Our room was very attractively decorated and furnished, as was the whole of the hotel. In a hot September... more

This comfortable, quiet, and beautifully appointed hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the old city. The hotel is intimate with friendly staff who collect your room key as you go out each day, and feels like the perfect way to do Dubrovnik. The well air-conditioned rooms are quite comfortable in the blistering heat of August. Breakfast on the... more
