Villa Mala is in the heart of the Old Town. We wanted to be close to the action so this suited us and it meant we could walk to dinner/drinks/sights very easily (5 mins). The room is spacious and has its own kitchenette and washing machine so for those who like to cook or need to catch up on washing, it would be very helpful. A couple of things we found. One was that you need to know that the Villa is up a series of very steep steps. We had a couple of heavy bags and I was blowing pretty hard after carrying them up. As there are no cars in the old town you cannot get close to the Villa and have to walk in, so I don't see any way around having to carry the bags up the stairs. Secondly, the room is at the bottom level of an apartment block, sort of tucked underneath. So no great views and could be a little dark. This didn’t worry us but it is good to know. Lastly there was a bit of a mouldy/wet smell about the room. Not overpowering but it was there and I could imagine this could become... more
