The service from those manning the front desk was great. They were very pleasant, and I received everything I asked for in a timely manner...wake-up calls, extra water, etc. The room was comfortable and a bit larger than some of the European hotels that I've stayed in. The only downside for me was the shower...it took some experimentation to get... more

We found the reception desk clerks very helpful and friendly, also English speaking. We were also impressed at their attitudes since they seem to work 24hr shifts! The hotel is quite clean. Compared to the Grand Hotel, the service is better but the ambience is newer, modern, more business- like and to our taste, less attractive. We didn't get to... more

Great location to be able to walk to most of the key Lviv sights -- right on the main square across from its namesake Opera House. Rooms are acceptable. Breakfast (included with room) was par for the course in Ukraine -- not stellar but enough to get you going in the morning. Luckily lots of good coffee nearby! As some... more

I echo the previous reviewer's thoughts that the Hotel Opera is not the best place to stay for English speaking tourists, even experienced travelers. The hotel décor is very nice, brand new and spotlessly clean, if a bit uninspired - the Hotel Opera's feel is very similar to an upper end Marriott. The front desk staff, however, was both unhelpful... more

Hotel "Opera" in Lviv is located right next to the Opera theatre. Lviv is a small enough city that it doesn't really matter too much, but this means that it's centrally located. As I write this in late 2007, the Opera is a relatively new hotel. It was under construction for quite some time with not insignificant intrigue and controversy.... more

We stayed at the Hotel Opera for 4 nights in September. It is a sparkling new hotel with comfortable rooms, great location, and a generous breakfast. L'viv is an elegant, old city that is well worth the trip. It can be a difficult, however, for tourists who do not speak Ukranian, Polish, or Russian because English is not used in... more

We stayed at the Hotel Opera, Lviv, for four nights at the end of June 2007 in a standard twin room (# 307) and paid UAH 750 per night (ca. GBP 75 incl. breakfast). The staff at the hotel spoke good English and compared to other establishments in Ukraine I would describe them as friendly and even helpful. The room... more

The Hotel Opera is a very nice small hotel directly across the street from the Opera in downtown Lviv. The room I stayed in was somewhat small, but contained all the usual amenities of a Western style hotel. The basement restaurant was quite good for dinner, and the buffet breakfast was fine. The staff was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Overall... more

Just stayed there. Rooms and everything is very polished, shining and working. The room was comfortable and relatively quiet (taking into account that the hotel is near a very busy avenue, I think it actually is the very center of the city). Breakfast was quite ok, except for the scrambled eggs - which were overdone and terrible (but maybe that's... more

New, spotless, right in the center of town. Helpful beyond any hotel we have stayed at. Very good food and service in the restraunts. The opera house and major museums are just across the street. more
