Hotel Egreta is in a village, on the Danube Delta. At the time we went it could only be reached by a potholed road and is quite a distance from the nearest big town, as a consequence they have difficulty recruiting trained staff. It was billed as " 4 star" but the room was a "deck access " type, with a stained carpet and small. The buffet breakfast was meagre, and the only drinks provided were a kind of orange squash and a coffee so awful that we were reduced to buying a proper coffee at the bar. Water was not provided! You had to buy your own at the bar. The pool area was nice and there was a jetty from which you could embarque to go trips around the Delta to see the wildlife (not in much evidence) and very expensive (£10 per person per hour - a lot for Romania).
