The Crillon is a two star hotel on the Corniche near Midan Saad Zaghloul. The location is great and the hotel is popular, but care needs to be taken. First, the entrance, on the side street, is awful and the elevators to the third floor lobby are something from a different era so hold your breath as you ascend - better yet, take the stairs. Once you arrive at the lobby things begin to improve and the staff is helpful. Some, but not all, of the rooms have been renovated so be sure that you ask for a renovated one because the unrenovated rooms are just awful. Unfortunately for us the only twin room available was unrenovated, even though we booked more than a month in advance of our stay. The shared bathrooms are clean but old and we found that use of one shower cut off the hot water to the shower in the other bathroom down the hall.
