It’s a very good time i spend my 4 nights in Alexandria. I made the reservation on expedia site; ELSALAMLEK HOTEL site cannot show you how wonder of this hotel. First I think that I am wrong to make the reservation on this hotel, after I checked in I knew it’s my best action I did it. Friendly staff, nice... more

For the first moment you feel the history , its a royal palace built since 1892 or 1893. they made for me a vip (check in) in my suite and when i asked they told me they treat every one as a vip guest , they had a classic restaurant called EL FAROK its very romantic atmosphere and a small... more

The El Salamlek Palace is a grand property set amongst gardens with a panoramic view of the Mediterranean. The service and accommodations are beyond compare. Especially enjoyed a lovely dinner in what was once King Farouk's office. Our spacious Princess Suite, on the second floor, has a wonderful balcony with a spectacular view. You can not go wrong in Alexandria... more

Upon arrival, we were surprised by the outside appearance of the hotel. It is quite impressive and you really think that this hotel is in a high-class quality range. Looks can be deceiving one once said. Check-in/check-out: Staff were rude. We asked them to explain the details of our billing and they literally laugh in our faces. They are busier... more

From the outset El Salamlek was shocking. Upon arrival I was told that it would take 20minutes to prepare my room, this then turned into 45 minutes which then turned into 2 hours which is pathetic considering the room I was staying in and the price I was paying. The staff were also rude and laughed in my face when... more

Quiet, romantic location within the beautiful Montazah Gardens. Lots of walking paths along the water and through gardens. Casino on site. To get to the main parts of Alexandria 5-8 miles away requires a long taxi ride along the busy ocean road (Corniche). The hotel is gorgeous, a 19th century royal hunting lodge. Musical quartet greets you with classical music... more

This Palace was actually the lodge for Farouk's guests - his Italain Renaissance pile is elsewhere on the same estate together with several other palatial buildings for his wives and staff. The whole complex, which covers a few hundred acres, is enclosed by walls and sea and you need transport to get in and out. Security is tight. There is... more

This former summer palace of King Farouk is set on acres of lovely grounds and overlooks the Mediterranean sea. Many of the well-appointed rooms have large balconies with a view. Service was excellent. Extremely quiet. Two restaurants in the hotel, including one with an extensive breakfast buffet with cooked to order eggs. Small lobby bar with live music (chamber music)... more
