After our first night in Mandalay at a wreck of a place (chosen blind from an agent's directory back at Inlay Lake), we asked a driver for help and he took us here. For many travelers this is probably an Average property. But to us it looked "Very Good" for Burma. Comfortable room, everything worked including air con & wifi.... More

If we were planning our trip over, we would avoid Mandalay. It is a city devoid of much character or charm. As there is not much selection of mid-range hotels, the Silver Swan was an OK option, but the rooms are very tired and dated. The lobby is nice and it was probably a nice hotel in its prime, but... Pros: - rooms are clean - bed is very comfortable - good breakfast buffet (included in the price). - staff is very friendly - wifi is free and fast Cons: - the location which is 15 mins from all the main sights - if you have a room in the back: the noise of the generator Still: value for money

On arrival we were shown a standard room and it was quite grim. A mosquito filled windowless box that smelt of cigarette smoke. We complained and were shown two other room types that were much nicer. For something like $10 more we upgraded to the largest room in the hotel, which was big, clean, light, comfortable and mosquito free. The... More

Good value and clean hotel. Hot showers plentiful, air con in room and knowledgable local staff with great English. Good breakfast buffet served on the 8th floor where you can watch the morning in downtown Mandalay start. Wifi is free and the fastest we have had in our trip in Myanmar so far. Only negative is location which is 15... More

Rooms smelled of smoke. Noisy location if you choose the wrong time to visit. On our last morning we were woken at 4am which went on constantly to 7am by very loud music chanting etc which made sleep impossible. There must be a temple in close location I asked at reception about the noise and was told it was a... More

We paid $56 for a twin, at peak year-end period. It’s a clean, basic hotel in downtown Mandalay: no frills, and neither the room nor the public spaces are anything to look at, but reasonably comfortable beds, hot showers, good air conditioner and no problems. Neither internet nor safety box in the room, but there is a free-to-use computer downstairs... More

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and it was a great stay. The staff are friendly and the room was quite good. It did have a wet bathroom as do most of the hotels we have stayed in during our time in Asia. The rooms are serviced daily and the staff are so friendly and helpful it made... More

Spent three nights here, the rooms are a bit cramped, but are cleaned daily. The rooms themselves aren't great, aren't terrible, they are acceptable. breakfast was ok, staff helpful and friendly. They also called a taxi/van driver to give us a private tour of a few sights we were interested in. Nothing to get excited about, but I would book... More

The silver swan is a great little budget hotel . The rooms are clean and the staff are very friendly. Even the cleaning staff smile and say hello as you meet them in the corridor. The front desk sorted me out with a car and a driver for the day . The next day I used a motor bike taxi... More
