We enjoyed staying in this hotel in the gorgeous town of Luang Prabang. Our downstairs room was good for me as I have a disability and it was very comfortable. Tea & Coffee making not available so that would have been a plus. Our room which was quite dark was very restful & comfortable built using Teak beams and furnished... more

The Chang Heritage is perfectly located in central Luang Prabang, and extremely attractive with its facade of ochre-colored stucco and dark tropical wood balconies and shutters. It's particularly stunning at night, with strategically-placed indirect lighting glinting off of the two vintage black Mercedes that always sit in front. But appearances can be deceiving, and we discovered early on into our... more

Lovely hotel with the best of service. No Noise etc. LP sees alot of hippie backpackers on the main street but this place sits over the river showing rural Lao life from a Five Star venue. Lao river style fisherman and garden makers mad for a great morning view. Lovely breakfast overlooking the river. Room done in dark wood. Very... more

Being collected at the airport in a sleek, black Mercedes from the 1970's make you feel like James Bond. The movie set feeling continues upon arrival at the Chang Heritage...with a location that any director would adore, lovely old antiques everywhere and attentive local staff. Breakfast al fresco along the river bank is a perfect Bondian start to the day... more

Second time to Luang Prabang. First and last time at The Change Heritage Hotel Unfriendly sour faced staffs including management. Front Desk Clerks method of greeting is to stare suspiciously with their mouths opened. Manager couldn’t give a darn if we reported a problem. He’s there for his paycheck and nothing more. Housekeeping staffs, looked at us with piercing eyes... more

The good: - beautiful rooms: lovely comfortable beds, tasteful antique furniture, quite spacious. We had a twin with no balcony on the first floor, but the balconies of the doubles look fab. - nice rain shower - gorgeous setting by the river. Especially eating breakfast by the peaceful river was a lovely start to the day. - quiet surroundings -... more

Stayed here 4 nights at a walk-in rate of US$90 per night for the 'premier suite'. Undeniably great location & ambiance, with a short walk to nearly everything & dark wood lined rooms dripping with imitation antiques. But, US$2 for a 1min local telephone call, 12% lower exchange rate than the downtown sharks, US$20 for a 10min ride to the... more

We booked 3 rooms for multiple nights and of all the hotels we used during our trip this hotel was the most expensive and offered the least value. There is no Internet connected computer for guests to use. The rooms are DARK like a cave. We awoke every morning with ash covering all our things because the rice fields and... more

I arrived at the hotel on a night flight from Vientiane. The driver was already there waiting to pick me up. The car was a classic looking black Mercedez with a very good condition and comfy seat. The reception staff checking me in were really friendly and accommodating. I stayed in the first room on the first floor, Khan Deluxe.... more
