The location is a tradeoff, the absolute riverfront location & Mekong views from my room means staying about 4 km (10 mins) bu Tuk-Tuk from the town centre. I give this otherwise lovely hotel my worst possible rating for one reason. Theft. There is a sign in the room that warns to lock up all valuables. I understand why now. I had 50 dollars lifted from my bags my the bellman somewhere between my room and checkout. Caveat emptor more

Agree with many previous (positive) reviews. Very glad to stay there after several days in town, to end our trip. Loved the gardens, the meals right above the river, the super pool, the history of the palace.... look at different sites to pre-book as prices vary. I was here for a long weekend with four friends and we had a wonderful time. It was in the low season and we were upgraded to first floor rooms overlooking the Mekong which was lovely.
