A unique hotel with beautiful rooms and a great pool to relax after a busy day exploring the sites in and around Luang Prabang! The service was great and the there were lots of great spaces at the hotel to enjoy! It was a very relaxing place to unwind. My only critique was that the breakfast was just okay. more

I know there are a number of 'upmarket' hotels now opening in Luang Prabang but it is hard to imagine that you'd find anything more perfect than the Maison Souvannaphoum. An ideal retreat after a day exploring this UNESCO world heritage town. Comfortable clean rooms have a large balconies and the pool is lovely. The outdoor restaurant is lexcellent and... more

The service is what makes almost every hotel in Luang Prabang outstanding. The people are so polite and gentle. The service here is excellent, but it is equally excellent elsewhere. The Maison is quite tired and almost run-down. Mold/mildew grows in the cracks of its bathrooms, and the linen and towels are quite worn. Bicycles are complimentary for your first... more

Stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. The first night we stayed in the main part of the hotel but we were not bowled over by the room. The next night we switched to the garden rooms which are slightly more spacious and have a balcony (although the hotel is on quite a busy road so sitting on... more

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in early September 2009. The expereince was amazing from the moment we walked though the front door. Check in was attentive with the customary welcome drink, along with the offer of a free dinner in the hotel restaurant. The room was comfortable with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool with an... more

Stay here you won't be disappointed. Lovely, helpful and polite staff who couldn't do enough for you. The rooms were spotless and well maintained. As someone as written an early turn down service was welcomed as you were never disturbed as you were getting ready to go out. Breakfast very good and so nice to sit overlooking the pool, a... more

A very cute, quirky little boutique hotel. The restaurant looked out onto the swimming pool, which was pleasant. The curries we had for dinner at the restaurant were lovely. The rooms were quite nice, but the reason I have given this 5 starts is because of the staff, they couldn't have been more helpful and were absolutely lovely. more

We spent 4 nights here and the hotel was a perfect base for exploring LP - but save time to enjoy the pool and massage treatments. Although located on the main road, or room was very quiet and the hotel's location near town turned out to be welcomed. Walkable everywhere. Our room was very stylish - located on the second... more

The joy of visiting Luang Prabang during the low season, is that you really feel as if you have the whole town to yourself. The downside, is that the hotel that you choose, may lack a little atmosphere. Maison Souvannaphoum is very good, but because it is a little larger than other hotels, it does need people to make the... more

I live in South East Asia and travel extensively, having stayed in many 5 star and boutique style hotels in the region, I was disappointed to stay here. The other reviews pick up on the main problems with the hotel. The bathrooms are terrible, old, lacking in style, small and un-inviting. The rooms are small with bulky tired furntiture. The... more
