Spent one night at this eco-lodge, with minimal electricity, no A/C and min. infrastructure. Somewhat enlightening look at how the Kamu people live, but certainly felt like we were the ones who were being studied. Interesting two days, but am truly perplexed by the high cost ($280 for 2 adults). You sleep in a tent with two beds, very basic... more

Stayed here for just one night on our 3 day Mekong River trip from Houeisay to Luang Prabang in December. Would liked to have spent 2 nights here I think. We left the boat with our overnight bags around about 2pm - just our family of 4 & 2 other guests (all the other boat guests stayed on the boat... more

We stayed 2 nights at Kamu on our trip to Luang Prabang and I would definitely recommend it. 1 night might not give you enough time to really unwind and appreciate the setting. The boat trip up to the lodge itself was beautiful and on arrival the tents were spotless and really nicely kitted out. Only 4 of the 20... more

We stayed at Kamu Lodge as part of the trip we had booked with the Asian Oasis cruise. I cannot fault the accommodation at Kamu Lodge at all - comfy and clean tents by the river and very cute rice terraces as well. It was a rather romantic setting and food was delicious! However, the activities they put on were... more

After a nice boattrip we arrived at the lodge. Very friendly people, excellent service, good food and great guide. The visit of the nearby village is an absolute must, takes you back in time... Weather was dreadfull, but OK July is rainy season, The tent kept us dry but don't expect aircon or satellite TV. Great experience, highly recommended. more

We stayed here for 2 nights in December 2007. The guide and staff we dealt with could not have been more helpful or accommodating. The visits to local villages were a highlight and provided an insight to life in rural Laos. The food was superb and there was no difficulty in accommodating my vegetarian partner. Accommodation was in very atmospheric... more

Kamu Lodge is a 2 hour trip upriver by boat from Luang Prabang but, because of the flow, just an hour back. All in all I think it’s one of the best examples of eco tourism I have ever seen because it’s a luxurious experience that obviously directly benefits the local villagers without ramming the whole “eco” thing down your... more
