Arrived at the 'resort' and was greeted by a very nice and friendly lady called Carolyn. She was very chatty and told us all about LP as we took a breather and put our bags down. She made a great and personable first impression. Then she showed us to our room. For US$50 a night, you get a very basic... more

So when my friend and I decided to take a trip to Laos and didn't know a single person who went there, all we had was our Lonely Planet guide published in 2006. Needlessly to say, when it came time to choose a hotel we only went with the Nam Kham Villas because it looked liked like one of the... more

I came to Luang Prabang both to explore its amazing culture, and for a relaxing holiday away from all the hustle and bustle. Staying at Nam Khan Villas Resort certainly allowed this and more. The food was great, people were lovely and our private bungalow made it feel like we were in our own little world! Nice and close to... more

I recently did an extended S'E'Asian trip (Loas, Cambodia, Thailand, Phillipines) as a result of my daughter turning 21 (we have a family tradition of taking the kids to the country of their choice when they turn 21 [3 down, 2 to go]) We were a family group (my wife and I with daughter and her fiance) none of us... more

We stayed a second time in Nam Khan Villa Resort in late Januar 2009. We came back because of the peaceful and friendly environment having stayed here previously in December 2007. We first found the resort at their website at: http://www.nkvresort.com/location.htm The villas are nice bungalows with bathroom and very comfy beds and nice balconies in a lush garden with... more

We stayed at Nam Khan Villas Resort in December 2008 and really enjoyed our stay. The resort is located on the river in comfortable wooden bungalows set in pretty and peaceful gardens. The staff were friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay here again. more

We stayed at Nam Khan Villa Resort with our family from Dec 26 to 31, 2008: my husband, 2 children (6 and 3 year-old) and my parents in law. We were totally disappointed by nearly everything. Those are poorly managed and remote log cabins! In a more detailed way, here is the non exhaustive list of what we experienced. First,... more

Sparse furnishings, no amenities, freezing cold at night. Issues with water/plumbing. Many items on the already meager restaurant menu are unavailable. Poorly managed, and "staff" is untrained. If you enjoy camping, this might be the place for you, but if you need to be comfortable while you are on vacation, stay away. more

We went to Luang Prabang in December 2007 and spent 3 nights in Nam Khan. The bungalows (real wooden houses) are fabulous, and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. After a busy day visiting temples, just lay down on the balcony with a book (be sure you take a mosquitoes repellent!)… a great moment! Although we loved the relaxing atmosphere,... more

This place is a little gem just outside Luang Prabang where you really get the best of both worlds - easy access to the lovely Luang Prabang but a peaceful and traditional oasis to retreat to at night. Had a fantastic stay here in august '08. Carolyn and Graham, the owners, made me feel totally at home and were a... more
