This hotel used to be linked with the backpacker Riad, but is now independent. It is one notch above the basic Riad and Cairo, while remaining an attractive option for the budget conscious. It is very well-situated situated on Quwatli street close to the clock tower, the river, central waterwheels and the remaining bits of the old town. Not noisy at night though. Large, modern, clean rooms are distributed over 3 floors, with private bathroom with shower (plenty of hot water), fridge, air-con, cable TV, table and chair, wardrobe. Some rooms have a small balcony. You can take breakfast (fairly basic) in the restaurant or your room at the time of your choice. The owner (who speaks good English and travels to Europe every year, so may not always be there) and his staff are friendly and helpful.
