though for european standarnds you wouldn't even consider staying there, don't forget that this is Hamah Syria, a rather poor region of the counrt y with no tourism and therefore no accomodation standards. Having read the LP guide I was quite looking forward to staying here but the reality was a let down. Whilst the lobby gives the impression of a modern 5 star, our room was very small and shabby around the edges. The room had no remote for the tv, the mini bar was empty, there was no hairdryer etc etc.... more

turned up on spec and the nice ladies on reception gave us a second floor room overlooking the river and waterwheels. cost about £75 per night. comfortable, well appointed room, with lovely bathroom. very clean and quiet. the hotel was luxurious with an excellent buffet breakfast, we loved it. v convenient location for a walking tour of the town. the... more

its the obvious place to stay - location and guaranteed comfort, and while nothing really wrong with it , it is charmless and dated, and bad value for money. we had a very small room with saggy beds; great view and good hot water but thats it. Much the worst place we stayed in syria! more

This hotel needs some investment to bring it up to 4*, let alone 5* standing. The standard was that of a 2* - 3* hotel. more

A large 11 storey hotel in the centre of the old part of Hama, the hotel is next to a couple of water wheels and there is a nice walk across the river and through the parks. Out hotel room overlooked the waterwheels and was basically furnished with sky tv, fridge etc. The downside of our room was the smell!... more

We stayed in this hotel for one night only in December 2005. The hotel was acceptable and okey for us. The room was not so fantastic, and looked like a typical hotel room of a socialist country in 1970's (which Syria still remains to be?). There was nothing in the room that reminded us that we're living in the era... more
