As an Iranian, I do love the smells and sounds of Isfahan's busy streets. In a way, after being away from it for 20+ years, when I go back (once every 2-3yrs), I am transformed. Even the busy unorganized airport brings tears to my eyes. This was the first trip to Iran, Isfahan, with my hubby and 1yr old. and... more

Great hotel, really classy. All rooms set out around a square that imitates a carvanserai. 15 minutes walk to the main square. 5 minutes walk to a main shopping street. Only one criticism: the restaurant had no ambience. Breakfasts fine though. more

We stayed in their most expensive suites which would be considered the most expensive in Iran and definitely quite expensive by european standards as well. The hotel was only nice 'superficially' in the common parts as people who go there from abroad may find it interseting for its deceiving traditional old Persian looks. However it took us very little time... more

I refuse to stay anywhere else when I'm in Isfahan. This hotel is worth every penny and more. I think it makes the top 20 most beautiful hotels in the world. more

This hotel is absolutly beautifull. Great garden where you can have a nice tea and a little bit of peace. The staff is ok. Food in the traditional restaurant is good. Without any doubt the best hotel in Isfahan. more

What a great way to end a three week tour of Iran! In a bustling part of the city, this hotel takes you back to the grandeur of the old days. We stayed in the main building, almost directly over the lobby with a wonderful view of the central courtyard/garden of the hotel. There were views of the Blue Mosque... more

We went to Iran on honeymoon, and were booked to stay somewhere else in Esfahan. We were advised to stay here instead, and we were both glad we did. We stayed in the old wing of the hotel, and the rooms and decor hark back to the glory days of Iran, when it was called Persia. It's a fascinating place,... more

I stayed in the Abbasi in early April 2009 for 3 nights. I stayed at the old wing of the building with a room on the ground floor opening into the garden. The room was spacious (even by today's standards. I think being an ex-caravan hotel helps) and well furnished and the bathroom was more spacious than the other hotels... more

The public areas at this landmark hotel, especially the central courtyard, are beautiful, but given the high price the service can only be described as terrible. The food in the hotel's "traditional" restaurant was pretty poor, although at least you can eat al fresco in the courtyard. Breakfast in the grand, over the top, rather tacky restaurant was average at... more
