I am in Dubai every year because we have family and friends in Dubai. Above all, I take a 5 star hotel on the JBR every year because it is very central to everything. This is the first time I check in at the Blue Beach Tower. There were several things that really disappointed me during my stay at the Blue Beach Tower, it is by no means worth 5 stars. Maximum 3 stars. It started on the first evening when we wanted to check in, we had a 12 hour way behind us until we were finally in Dubai. We wanted to check in at 4 o'clock in the morning, completely exhausted, hungry and without a mobile phone battery, until we were told that we would have to pay a deposit of 500 DAE, otherwise we are not allowed into our booked rooms. We were not told this when booking the hotel, nor were we able to find this information on our booking page, which is why we were not prepared. Since we had been in Dubai in the middle of the night for less than 1 hour, every shop where you could change money had of course. We were not allowed into our rooms until we paid the deposit. We asked if we could first go to our booked room to rest and then, as soon as a shop opens to be able to change our money in Dirhim, give them the money immediately, we were denied that. I understand that these are the rules of the hotel, but there are really customers who arrive exhausted after hours of travel in the middle of the night and just want to go to their room. They could have been a little more courteous to the customers. After we finally found a solution and were able to pay the deposit, we came to our room. There was not a single socket there that tourists from abroad can use. Nowhere was there an adapter or any way to charge your mobile phone. This has never happened to me in a hotel on the JBR. Normally you always think of the customers and the hotels it is clear that people from abroad do not have this kind of sockets. We called the reception completely exhausted at 5 o'clock in the morning to ask if there is a charging option for our mobile phones, they told us they don't have a single adapter and we should take care of it ourselves. We told them we had to let our family know that we landed well, because they are worried, then the man at the reception told me that we should go to a supermarket at 5 o'clock in the morning and buy adapters for the hotel room ourselves, because they are not responsible for it. I thought that was a cheek, because something like that is part of the hotel's service, how can it be that tourists from abroad can't use the electricity in the hotel? What did they pay for? After a 1-hour discussion, we were provided with 2 adapters. This has never happened to me in Dubai, especially not in a 5 star hotel and I really fly every year. The following days we had to call the reception almost every day if we wanted our room to be cleaned, as the cleaning lady never came by by herself. The cleaning was always done after repeated requests. When the room was cleaned, not even the bed linen was changed, the dirty bed linen stayed on. We had to call the reception 5 times so that we could partially change the bed linen after another discussion. When cleaning the room, you didn't get any new towels, toilet paper or soap. We often had to call to get all this. The cleaning lady brought us all the things we needed in a black bag to the room. We sorted the things ourselves and carried the towels into the bathroom. What I can't understand either, these are all things that are self-evident in a 5-star hotel. Since then, do you have to ask the reception several times to tidy up the room or to get fresh towels or toilet paper? The breakfast was very limited. There was always the same breakfast and it was very little compared to other 5-star buffets. There were always the same 2 types of cheese. 2 types of sausage. That's why we often had breakfast outside. Even when we wanted to go to the sauna, we were told that the sauna for the ladies has been defective for 1 month, neither the steam bath nor the sauna could we use, although it was written online on the website that this would be available. We were told that they only work with men. In our room, our refrigerator was partly broken because it made very loud noises, so we often had to pull the plug at night, otherwise we could not sleep from the noises. Our table lamp was broken. A door from the wardrobe was broken. And our room had a lot of flies. The hygiene in this hotel is very poor. Just like the service (evenily at the reception), the only ones who were really warm, were the restaurant staff. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The hotel is not worth 5 stars due to all these shortcomings. No consideration was given to the customers. For such a service & such a disappointment, I think we have lost our money.…
