I was a student at Michigan and always looked to the Bell Tower hotel as a fancy place. I finally got a chance to stay there and I was pretty disappointed. I had expected a boutique hotel and instead found my room blase and boring. I found I wanted to get out on campus more than enjoy the comforts of... more

Bell Tower has a great location, steps from campus. The room and bathroom were clean and the staff was pleasant. The hotel is relatively old and the decor reflects that. The mattress was stiff and uncomfortable. I understand that accomodations in Ann Arbor are only average and for that reason, I might stay at the Bell Tower in the future. more

If you want a place where the employees try to make you feel welcome, stay here. The bathroom had a shower only and was outdated but beyond that, it was a lovely hotel! The service definitely compensated for the rooms. more

The Bell Tower has excellent staff and service and has the best location right in the midst of campus. BUT... it needs updating -- and badly. The rooms have probably not been touched since the early 80s and it shows. The rooms are tiny, the bathrooms even tinier and the beds must be twenty years old. They should start with... more

Stayed in this hotel with my wife for a wedding in June. First let's start with the positive traits; excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff, complimentary valet parking, nice restaurant and bar. This hotel would really shine with a renovation to bring it into the present day. I realize that this property prides itself on its history but some... more

Stayed one night last weekend. First floor room looked out on parking lot and that brick wall elsewhere mentioned. The room was small though reasonably well lit and equipped. Like many similar properties, the decor and fixtures were quite dated. At nine a.m., the breakfast room was nearly deserted but all the tables were dirty. Like many other campus hotels... more

We were in Ann Arbor for a football game so location was our main concern. The hotels location is right on campus, we parked the car and were able to walk everyplace. The staff is friendly, for an older hotel they do keep the rooms clean including the towels and linens. Rooms are very small, if I stayed again I... more

Spent a night at the Bell Tower Hotel in mid August 2004. The lobby was dimly lit and there was no street noise which gave the place a feeling like a quiet oasis from the hub-bub going on outside. The room was reasonably clean, although there was a lingering aroma of marijuana smoke... offering smoke free rooms at all would... more

My parents met and fell in love in Ann Arbor and decided to take me back to see where it all happened. For our stay, we chose the Bell Tower hotel due to its close proximity to the campus. The staff was friendly and the location was more than ideal, as it was right around the corner from the Diag... more
