The owner is grumpy and largely invisible. He snapped at me and lectured me when I advised him out of courtesy one evening that I wouldn't be able to make it to the evening meal as I had an evening excursion. I had tried to contact him or his wife during the day but the private quarters appeared dark and locked up (like most of the hotel), no-one responded when I called to them earlier in the day a number of times. Eventually when a light appeared in the private quarters I gingerly called to him again from the corridor, however he then berated me! His wife had slaved over a hot stove for me and only shortly before the meal was I telling him I couldn't make it, this lecturing went on for a minute or two with me standing in the corridor feeling humiliated. I have never experienced such rude behaviour from a hotel owner. After this I wanted to leave the hotel immediately but I couldn't as I had pre-paid.
