The hotel is on a back street along a river near the port and ocean. It is not as luxurious as the Marina Hotel, but it is comfortable, and more reasonably priced (for Cotonou). The pool and restaurant are really nice, and the staff are pleasant. more

Just Returned from a week stay in Cotonou Benin. It was mostly for work reasons but really its such a relaxing place to stay, you cant help feel chilled out there. The Hotel du Lac is owned by a Lebanese family and has a large/nice terrace on the water, perfect for sunsets and watching fishermen. The actual rooms are stale 2.5-star rooms, with the absolute basic amenities (including satellite tv, hot water, and A/C). This was a fantastic hotel. The have a very helpful and cordial staff. Rooms were clean and well appointed, many with views of the lagoon. The hotel restaurant is one of the best in Cotonou with its own pizza oven (fantastic pizzas) as well as local cuisine. The swimming pool was also quite large and clean. more
