Lonely Planet had a glowing review of this super horrid Hotel Monserrat. We moved the next day to this hotel after visiting 2 of the best rated in Tripadvisor, by far this was the best. I stayed at this hotel from March 2nd to March 6th. The hotel is centrally located in the "Prado" area. It is a high rise with 12 floors. My room was on the top floor. It had great city views. Luxury is a stretch when describing this place. The rooms look a bit dated, similar to most average American motels.... more

I've stayed at the Hotel Diplomat on two occasions, the staff is friendly enough, and some rooms have nice views of the city. But the rooms are decorated like a motel 6, and the wireless internet barely works. But you probably won't find anything nicer here. more

Stayed at the Diplomat for work, but it would also be a great choice for personal travel. Perfect location, nice rooms with comfortable beds and cable TV, friendly staff, free internet in the business center, etc. I can´t think of any downsides. This is a very pleasant hotel located directly in the heart of Cochabamba on El Prado, the main street in the city.
