I recently stayed at La Residence d'Angkor. All I can say is that this hotel is unique and quite special. As others have written, the journey begins the moment you exit your cab from the airport. I was greeted by several bellman offering to carry my bags to the check in desk located across a wooden bridge and pond. Truly... more

This is the best of all the hotels in Siem Reap. Classy, unpretentious and very honest. more

Everything here attacks all your senses (in a good way!). From walking across the wooden foot bridge with colorful fish swimming under the moat as you enter the property sets the stage for an Indochine "feng shui" experience. The art of placement in the common areas has a calming affect after a busy day visiting Angkor Wat. From the aromatic... more

This is a very nice hotel - with nice gardens, a good sized pool, but there are a few odd things about it. Firstly the rooms. They are generally very nice, but the balconies in other than the suites are too small, with room for only one chair which is not very sociable. The bathrooms are a bit of an... more

I checked out all the top rated hotels while I was there, and this is, without a doubt, the best hotel, if you seek unique, authentic travel experiences. The location is perfect, our riverside room, provided us with us with a fantastic viewpoint, as the river flooded its banks, the result of the typhoons in the phillipines, we were high... more

A buddy and I stayed at the La Residence last week while in Siem Reap to - what else - see the Angkor complex. From the moment you walk into the hotel, across a little wooden footbridge with beautiful fish swimming in the moat on either side we were put at ease. The staff was very attentive, friendly and professional.... more

We stayed 3 nights. The room (bedroom, living room, bathroom, dressing room, balcony) was serene and sophisticated and OH so gorgeous, I didn't want to leave it. Everything, from the heavenly aromatic oils burning, the fresh orchids at turn down, the plump soft oversized bath towels AND the sensational bathroom amenities to the pool and grounds, was perfect. I love... more

This is one of the most beautifully designed hotels in the world. Elegant and understated in a serene Asian style. The rooms are very quiet. Reproductions of nearby Angkor Wat temple statues are used to decorate the grounds and the rooms. The lighting throughout adds to the restful ambience. Beautiful landscaping, includes the entrance which is a bridge over a... more

This is a fantastic hotel. The staff are superb, the rooms magnificent and the pool divine. After four nights we decided to stay in town a bit longer. We visited several other "top" hotels and the clear decision was to stay where we were! The addition of a few more rooms and and on-site spa (due for completion september 2009)... more

We stayed four nights at this hotel. It is well located in Siem Reap. The hotel structure, pool area, and interior are contemporary, but combine traditional Khmer elements in a very satisfying way. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and had a lovely view of the pool area. The hotel staff did a very good job of setting us... more
