This is a bit late, but life is busy. Well, we think that Hanamunalaya may just about be the best place that we have ever stayed in. We were tossing up between Hanamunalaya and another small hotel, and decide on the other because of locality. (Big mistake) Cutting to the chase, after a viewing our room and the crazy set... more

It wasn't the best start as we were promised a complimentary airport transfer which due to some mix up wasn't there, but apart from this we were delighted with our stay. At $85 per night this was the most expensive place we stayed in Cambodia but it is very nice indeed. There are only about 10 high quality rooms looking... more

What a wonderful find! This place has a uniqueness, a character that other places sorely lack. Immediately you are enveloped in a rich decor in a garden sending that transmits tranquility. The rooms are clean and comfortable. A/C and WiFi. Great Service and a good breakfast. What more do you want? Or, yes, the price... best value in Siem Reap. more

I have just returned from three days in Siem Reap where the only disappointment was the Hanuman Alaya hotel. When I first arrived my initial impression was excellent. The hotel has a wonderful look and feel and, although my room wasn't ready (it was an early flight so this was expected), I went off temple gazing, looking forward to a... more

We saw this hotel on the tv before we left home, and it did not disappoint! What a stunning boutique hotel! Gorgeous polished woods, statues, leafy foliage and a gorgeous swimming pool. The room was great, bathroom a little dated, but fine. We literally did not want to leave this place. Breakfast was good - babana pancakes were actually waffles... more

This was our first trip to Cambodia to see the famous Angkor Wat (and other temples). A friend recommended Hanumanalaya and since I quite liked the idea of a 'boutique' hotel, we booked a double deluxe room (we were travelling with two small kids). Though the place is tiny, I found it amazing - right from the friendly service to... more

I wish I could recommend the $35/night backpacker rooms that the Hanumanalaya offers in addition to their primary property, but I can't. We couldn't sleep here. We stayed four nights and each night we were either kept up or awaken at 5:30 a.m.. The problem is that the backpacker rooms are attached to the house where people live and, when... more

Siem Reap: Hanumanalaya Boutique Guesthouse We stayed for five days (March 2009) in this small but excellently run boutique hotel. The centre of the hotel has an inviting pool surrounded by tropical vegetation. Set back from the pool are shaded areas for relaxing and a bar/restaurant serving high quality food by attentive and friendly staff. The rooms (all air-conditioned of... more

Everything about this hotel is pure heaven. Arriving bedraggled from a long bus ride we were greeted so warmly by the staff, a level of care that never waivered during our seven day stay. Everyone was so charming and helpful, the interiors are beautifully decorated with antiques and the pool area surrounded by lush potted plants. Coming 'home' after a... more
