This was the first place we stayed in Cambodia. We had a double room with fan for $10 a night. It comes with free bottled water and use of the one computer in the lobby. The service form the staff was warm and sincere and one of the male staff, Dara was very friendly. Its very near to Samaki market and nearer to the temples but not near old market areas. This was the main reason why we moved away after a few nights even though we enjoyed our value for money stay. It also has a khmer name that translates as "beautiful guesthouse." more

Angkor Villa has recently moved to a new hotel next door so it is not as described in the Lonely Planet & the photos on the DMS Angkor Villa website are out of date, HOWEVER, this is a good thing as the new hotel is FANTASTIC! It costs $16 per night for a double/twin room with ensuite, but the standard of the room & level of cleanliness make it worth much more than the rate charged (& I say this as a backpacker on a tight budget who would ordinarily consider $16 expensive). The hotel is light & airy with new fixtures & fittings & lovely carved wooden furniture, the rooms are also a good size. The hotel is located away from the main tourist strip of Psar Chaa but for me this was a bonus as it means you are staying in the 'real' Siem Reap, it also means that the hotel is lovely & quiet. Having said that Siem Reap is a small town & it possible to walk to Psar Chaa from DMS Angkor Villa, or it is a short ride by moto or tuk tuk, if you want the amenities... more
