RiverGarden is a gem. Set within a little rainforest with ponds and lush vegetation it is a cool and welcome retreat from the heat and dust. One of things we particularly enjoyed was the friendly staff. They were friendly and chatty but not intrusive. Our 12 yr old son had great fun being taught some basic Khmer words each morning... more

My Partner and I recently returned from one weeks stay at the River Garden, Siem Reap, Cambodia. The location of the hotel is well situated, on a relatively quiet road opposite a river, between 5-10 minute tuk tuk ride into the main part of town. There are always tuk tuk drivers at the front of the hotel more than happy... more

this spot is not the in center of town, which we enjoyed. great pool and nice grounds. we stayed in the Khmer Cottage which was small and the bathroom al fresco - it was fine - not thrilling. the a/c worked well. nice little porch. might be a little overpriced for what you get. more

I've only just joined tripadvisor, hence delay in posting review. Yes, this place is pricey (not actually that out of the way in Siem Reap, incidentally), but you are paying for lovely rooms, pretty well-tended gardens, relaxing pool, great food, good service and a place located away from the busier more touristy parts of Siem Reap. Are you really going... more

Stayed here after reading the reviews at Lonelyplanet, and very disappointed. It is basically a guesthouse trying to brand itself as a boutique hotel which it is not. Food/drinks are of substandard and highly overpriced. Packages for tours misleading and expensive. Looking at the fierce competition among hotels/resorts in Siem Reap, i think there are much better alternatives. If you... more

We stayed at The RiverGarden in Feb'09, at a suggestion from a fellow traveller. We only stayed 2 nights as they were booked out, and although the pool is reportedly the coolest in temperature in Siem Reap (of which i have no doubt!, and definitely not disappointing), the place is overpriced considering its location (suburbs away from town centre) -... more

we stayed for 5 nights in a smallish romm worth, in our opinion USD 30 instead of the 50 asked. The staff is quite friendly but supervision is totally lacking. more

I'm working in asia and frequently travel for week-end around my base. briefly my perception & experience for a 2 nights + 1 day package visit of temples during the TeT period (lunar near year) last week of Jan.09 - this place is too much business oriented in a so poor country, (you will pay package more than twice the... more

The grounds and pool of the River Garden hotel (www.therivergarden.info) are truly something to behold and if you have one of the rooms with a balcony, it is a wonderful way to end a long day after exploring the temples. As a bonus, the hotel is situated in a rural part of town across the street from the river. So,... more

Stayed at the river Garden for 3 nights. The resort is located in a residential area to far from the center of SR. The rooms are scattered in double story building around a well kept garden. Here the low points: - We booked the "Deluxe package" which cost us almost US$300 p.p. for a 3 nights stay. This included perks... more
