Unique design elements make this hotel a funky and welcoming stay in Punta Arenas. Every room has a unique character and design. The lobby is conducive to relaxing with a book and a cup of tea or a glass of hot wine. The owners are very friendly and always willing to help their guests find whatever they need as is... More

As per my review on La Casa Escondida, I really dont know which B&B should be #1. Tragaluz was a great place to stay. The rooms were warm, comfortable with great showers. Breakfast was delicious (and very healthy which was a welcome change!). There really isnt anything bad to say about here or La Casa Escondida. They both deserve the... More

cozy, ecclectic, clean and welcoming. after travelling for 49 hours from alaska to punta arenas we were tired. arriving at tragaluz b&b we were greeted warmly and immediately felt at home. after a dinner at a restaurant they recommended (which was also fabulous) we returned to the b&b and were even able to buy a bottle of wine there to... Very comfortable stay. Dan was really helpful with restaraunt recommendations and supplied us with a map of the area and good advice on catching a bus to Puerto Natales. Our bus was early the next morning and Dan and Lorena prepared an early breakfast for us so we could make the bus on time. Thanks for the great stay Dan... More

Efficient, friendly people quick to respond to emails, to make trip and restaurant bookings, welcoming with nice room, hot shower etc. Above and beyond breakfast left for 6am departure with freshly squeezed orange juice, wonderful bread, delicious home made biscuits and fruit. Barking dogs a slight nuisance at night but that is PA. Compared with Hotel Carpe Manzano which we... More

After a 12 hour bus ride from Ushuaiai, was a bit surprised walking up. Inconspicuous on the outside, nice and homey on the inside. Reserved a room on booking.com and received a personalized confirmation email within 10 minutes. Beds comfortable, decor thoughtful, just close enough to downtown and far enough away to be quiet (revving engines at 3am seems commonplace... More

Great spot to stay in Punta Arenas. Good rooms and breakfast. Owners and staff were great. When our luggage did not arrive on our flight from Santiago, Dan and Lorena lent us a couple of spare jackets so we could participate in the Isla Magdelena Penquin tour that evening. We asked them to wash some lettuce for us for a... More

El Tragaluz is a wonderfully restored old Punta Arenas house, beautifully decorated with lots of great and ingenious ideas. Communal areas are very cosy, with plenty of reference books to look at (about the region and great places to visit), with tea at all times, and is very bright. The room we had was very large and pleasant, with a... More

Like everyone else, I loved this place. The location is quite good as it is a 10 minute walk to the center of town which means you are close but not in the middle of all of the commercial activity. The owners, the facility and the ambiance were all first rate. If you are not sure what to do in... More

There may be other hotels with more luxurious accommodations in Punta Arenas but none will get you closer to experiencing Chile than the Tragaluz. Dan and Lorena will be more than just hosts, they will share with you their experience of living in the small town. Dan sent us to a tiny market where we had the best empanadas of... More
