When I travel to another country, either on business or for leisure, I tend not to spend my whole time in the hotel, but simply use it as a base. Having travelled to Shenzhen on many occasions, I found the Lushan Hotel to be always perfect for my needs. I stayed the twice in 2005 and 4 times in 2006
Its clean, well presented, the staff are always helpful, and although I don't speak Chinese yet, the level of English of the staff was more than adequate. Its ideally situated in the centre of LouHu district, within easy walking distance of the shops and the metro station (Guo Mao). I hardly every eat at the hotel I stay in, and the big advantage of the Lushan is that there are so many fantastic restaurants close by. If you spend your time eating in hotels or American junk food chains...
