Just returned from a week at the Grand City Hotel. The rooms at the hotel are very modern and very clean. The bathroom is very modern with granite and an open window feel. The ceilings are 10ft+ and the TV is a flat screen with 4 english speaking channels. The staff is very accomodating but does not speak understandable english. There is a spa that boasts a 90 minute (legimate) massage for around 13 US dollars. The foot massage is around 6 US dollars and is the best buy.

There are two downsides to this hotel:

1) Beware the water temperature in the shower will not stay constant. The perfect temperature will change to scolding then to ice cold.

2) The hotel is in the middle of an industrial area and is a long 45+ minute cab ride to downtown Shenzhen. The industrial park does not have anything to see or places to eat or banks that take Visa or Mastercard. If your trip is for business this is the place for you.
