Overall, I think it would be an injustice to award anything less than 5 stars even though there are some minor issues, particularly with the fixtures and fittings. The negatives do present themselves, despite any recent upgrades in the club-class rooms, in the standard room decor, which is becoming somewhat tired, and the occasional omissions to clean surfaces properly, which... more

very friendly staff with good english will help you with smiles. totally safe. nothing has been stolen even i left my laptop on the desk in my room. i heard a lot about stealing at hotels in china but it's not going to happen here. great restaurants such as "shang palace" and "ozeki" are also available. strongly recommended. more

Have stayed at same hotel for last 5 years, and nothing appears to have changed. Furnishings and decor getting a little shabby and probably in need of updating - but given limited competition in terms of western style hotels, can see why they feel they don't need to. Having said that Coffee Garden (main restaurant) closed for refurbishment during my... more

Had to stay here on business as we were visiting a factory outside Wuhan. Overall the check-in experience and lobby was good, though it is a bit dated when compared to hotels I usually stay at while in asia. Bedroom was decent and bathroom/living area had all the amenities you would anticipate a Shangri-La to have. Breakfast buffet was just... more

A two night stay in the City gave me a reasonable chance to see the hotel. Very nice function rooms, an okay breakfast and some English speakers. A standard business hotel. Average in most Asian cities, but probably the only good Western standard one in Wuhan. Recommend if in the area but nothing special about this. more

I won't comment on the hotel as a whole, which I am sure is very good, because we cancelled while we were checking in. The room was only 500rmb and they wanted to charge another rmb210 for an extra bed for my 5 year old! We debated this at some length before going to the Novotel 500m away where the... more

My new wife and I stayed at this hotel as part of our honeymoon visit back to China, we were visiting family in the city, and used this hotel as a base. The staff were efficient and friendly as you would expect from a class hotel. The room though a little small was well presented and kept wonderfully clean. Good... more

Just returned back home from a business trip to China and stayed at the Shangri La Wuhan. This hotel is a great place to stay however, someone told me about the beds in Asia are hard and yes they were hard, so if you are not used to hard beds then it will take some time to get a good... more

Shangri-la is Shangri-la, I stayed two nights here in Nov, 2006 and found everything is superior than most hotels in China with only one exception: the hotel has shown its age. If you look carefully, you would find that in your room. Service at this hotel is exceptional, the breakfast was reasonable, but I would rather not have other meals... more
