Stayed for 3 nights on business, okay location, close to quite a few restaurants, and SoHo Bar :) Rooms are comfortable and spacious, well appointed and clean. Only a few of the front office staff speaks English, same with 2nd floor restaurant. Ate in the restaurant/cafe on the first night, ordered ribeye....was served a 'new york strip' slice of mystery... The Howard Johnson in Wuhan is a five-star hotel, and it certainly deserves each of those stars. My so-called “standard” room was fabulous. It had two single beds with fluffy duvets, two night tables, two lounge chairs, a flat screen TV with cable, a writing desk with a lamp, a chair, and free broadband plus tea/coffee makers, bathrobes and super... First impressions :nothing spectacular. A typical 4 star Chinese hotel and for 680 RMB value for money. Check in was smooth, service was good but nothing special. The rooms clean and well maintained with consistent internet connection. The breakfast buffet was pretty standard. Location was not the best….for me it was a little bit out of the way… central but... Stayed there again after 3 years time. I the meantime I preferred the Holiday Inn Riverside or the Shangri-La (with the Shangri-La being the best) Rooms are quite spacious, bathroom with a bathtub. TV has CNN, BBC, DW and Cinemax. But no other movie channel. Bed were actually quite soft compared to other Chinese hotels. Electric plugs are behind the... More

Living in Guangzhou, I had to experience the longest, fastest railway in Earth so I headed for Wuhan. Booked on-line and rate was pretty good. Rooms are bit dated but beds very comfy and no noise. Great view of Yangtze river. Pool pretty old and tired but good for quick exercise. Location good for promenade and nice local foodnnear back... More

I stayed at this hotel in October for a 2-day busienss trip and found Howard Johnson Wuhan a very good choice. Location of the hotel is superb - right by the Yangtze river on Hankou side and offers spectacular river view from guestrooms (make sure to request a river facing room). Hotel premise is also located on a major road... More

We went for a trip in Wuhan and we reserved for 3 nights at this hotel hotel and we ended up staying there for 6 nights! You can not say bad things about HJ (apart from my AC not working but in autumn who cares). It is close by the river, there's a huge park just across the street and... More

This is an excellent hotel - by far the best of the ones we stayed at on tour. The rooms were large and comfortable. The food was the best range and quality of the tour (and the others were good). Cross the road straight into the riverside park to see kite flying, the chinese at play and exercise, and plenty... More

Ideally located next to one of the great parks of the world and convenient to central Hankou. Buses nearby, Walking distance to ferries and riverboat piers. The design is attractive, the views magnificent. The staff are very cordial, helpful, competent, efficient. These people are really at the 5-star level. The bed is comfortable. Water temp and pressure are great. Free... More
