From the exterior, the hotel looked just terrible. From the lobby, it seemed a little bit better, but it did seem a bit empty and dull. We walked into the room, and it looked very nice. the sofitel is a new international class hotel located within the central shopping district . with all other 'name' hotels, one must grab a taxi to go shopping. if you wish a quick american style eatery, there are various fast food restaurants within walking distance including TGI Friday on premise. the rooms are refreshingly nuveau european in style. the front... more
I booked this hotel in reference to other Sofitel Hotels in Berlin, Rio de Janeiro and DongGuan (check my reviews). The stylish and modern lobby in a busy street close to Suzhou oldtown could only impress for moment. The check-in already started as a mess! I went to Suzhou for a week, and I found that Sofitel Suzhou is a very nice place to stay. The decoration and the building is very nice and new, pretty rooms I must say. It's very comfortable to live in there, cheap price for hotel like that. more
