Considered one of the better hotels in Medellin. Approx 30-40 minutes from the airport. Be sure to call the hotel in advance to have someone pick you up. Well, let's say that the IC website paints a different picture than reality for this hotel. Yes, the location is upscale, but there's really nowhere to go without a taxi. I've stayed in the Interconti for my businesstrip towards Pensilvania. The Intercontinental Medellin is a safe and comfortable place to stay for both tourists and business. There are better options in Medellin but for the first time visitting Columbia it's a good place from where you can start finding out more about the streetlife and other hotel / dining options.... more

Just stayed here in mid March 07. The rooms are "refurbished" not new. My rugs were dirty and the couch looked like it had seen one to many football sundays.
