We stayed in the newer building in July as part of our Galapagos tour. It was a block from the original complex were we ate breakfast and dinner. Our room on the 3rd floor was quiet, clean and had a modern tiled bathroom. The dining area had purified water dispenser and that was a plus. We just kept refilling our water bottles instead of having to buy drinking water. The breakfasts and dinners were typical Ecuadorian food, fresh juice, bread, jam, fruit, eggs and instant coffee or tea for breakfast and for dinner, fresh juice, soup, chicken or fish, rice and vegetables.
There was a large group of students staying in the main lodge, they were noisy and occupied the wireless internet spots, so we could not log on.
