We discovered before arriving at the Royal Palm that the locals nicknamed it the Royal Cloud and if you arrive in the misty season you can see why. We were there for 3 days but the view was only visible for one of them, and most of the time the trees, tennis courts etc were simply dripping with rain and... more

We had a short, but wonderful stay at the Royal Palm. The accomodations were beautiful and the staff were friendly and detail oriented. The food was excellent both in the dining room and with room service. While the hotel is a $7-10 taxi ride to town, and, yes, it is in the cloud forest, it provides a respite from the... more

I stayed at the Royal Palm last year. I decided to write this review because I love to stay at LHW properties and the only one that has dissapointed me has been this one. As we arrived we had to stay for the staff to work out immigration. We were put on a confortable room, but we had to wait... more

I stayed at the Royal Palm hotel for seven days for me it is the best hotel on the Galapagos Islands, really luxury. This is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the Nature of Islands. It’s situated in the perfect place to enjoy a quiet sleep with a wonderful structure. The villas are great I loved the Jacuzzi and... more

We stayed at Royal Palm for 4 nights and were able to enjoy three full days of the Galapagos Islands with tours. The accommodations are beautiful but what the website /brochure doesn’t explain (and should) is that the hotel is located in the highlands at 1500ft elevation. This means that instead of arriving at a sunny destination, you will arrive... more

The Royal Palm Hotel is located in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island, as is clearly stated on the hotel´s web site. Also in the web site and on the pre trip information e-booklet that is sent to all our guests, is clearly explained that from July to November the archipelago is under the influence of the “garua” or mist...

I should have known we were in for a bad stay when we arrived at the hotel and we were looking at the list of movies the hotel offered to lend. We flipped to the second page and I noticed a copy of my credit card was photocopied to the back of the page. When I told the girl at... more

As part of our efforts to reduce the impact of our operation in Galápagos we have implemented among other actions, the re usage of paper. As part of the implementation process sadly mistakes might be made, and using the photocopy of a document from a client is a big one, and also goes against the internal procedure that states that...

We chose the Royal Palm because we read how luxurious it was only to find it was extremely remote and made it difficult to do anything other than stay at the hotel. We were very disappointed to find out it was probably the only hotel in Galapagos that did not offer excellent wildlife viewing right from your room. If I... more

We stayed 2 nights at the Royal Palm to recover from our long haul flight from the UK to Ecuador, before boarding a week long Galapagos cruise. We were not met & taken to the VIP lounge on arrival & had to queue up in a very hot airport arrival place for all the paperwork. We were taken privately to... more

Royal Palm was the base for our travels in the Galapagos. Since I have a tendency for motion sickness, I did not want to sleep on a boat. This hotel was the perfect alternative. The property is beautiful. The hotel arranged the majority of our excursions. Initially, I felt the excursion prices were steep; however, upon completion of the excursions,... more
