Stayed at the Golden Inn in Avalon N.J. What a great hotel. The staff is so freindly and couldn't do enough for you.You are on the ocean but they also have a heated pool with a outstanding bar on their sand dunes.The restaurant has great steaks and seafood with live music.I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants... more

Attended a conference, which was great, but the food service was lousy. Out of the three days there, each and every day, desert was carrot cake, cheese cake, and cookies. I stayed at this hotel several times. The restaurant experience has been terrible all the time. Bad food, very expensive, poor service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone more

After readying mixed reviews, we decided not to reserve a room but rather stop in and have a look around first. It was during the week in October, so crowds were gone. I'm sad to say that The Golden Inn was a very disappointing. We were so excited to stay here. It seemed like such a nice elegant hotel, but was extremely disappointing. Our expectations were not very high to begin with, but unfortunatley even those relative low expectations were not met. We stayed in the Golden Inn for 5 nights. We had a room in the old wing, next to the elevator. This proved to be a very noisy room but as the hotel was fully booked we could not get relocated.... more
