This was our 4th (or 5th) stay at The Beachcomber. We arrived a few hours before check-in, yet our room was ready. I am certain the front desk staff makes every effort to accommodate early arriving guests. We have been so accommodated in past trips, too. We were in Room 301 - very clean, large enough for a family of... more

Not for the budget-minded or the physically challenged. If you are going to Avalon, you are probably prepared to pay, but what you may not know is that The Beachcomber has no elevator and no handicapped access accommodations for those you need them. If you have physical challenges, be sure to get the first floor. Our efficiency apartment was more... more

We have stayed in many Jersey shore towns over the years. Avalon-Stone Harbor is among the nicest . For us, this island has become our destination of choice. It provides the right mix of activities, venues, and lazy summer quiet that we seek. Short drives to places like Atlantic City, Wildwood, or Cape May provide day trips when we want them.... more

We loved that it was a block from the beach. The pool was clean and not too crowded. The room was small, and the full size beds seemed smaller than normal. It was hard to sleep with all the lights outside our windows. We had to hang blankets from the windows to darken the rooms. It was nice and quiet... more

Have stayed here previously and found it conveniently located. We loved the unit we stayed in on the first floor, 117. Had all the amenities we like and feel the kitchen, although small, had everything we needed to make our vacation enjoyable. Our adult children also vacation at the Beachcomer with their families and always come back with positive comments.... more

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The employees are all rude and unwelcoming. At one point we were told that they "dont service people like us". I am not sure what that is supposed to mean since our group is just like anybody else and though we may not make millions, we are still a very... more

Management response from
beachcomberresort, Mgr.

In response to the writer who had a terrible stay, all of what they said is not true. The real truth is that this group was very politely asked to leave our establishment due to their behavior , which was on par to a frat party on a saturday night. Pool crashing, dropping a bottle on the front walk and loud noise...

stayed in Rm. 202. It needs serious TLC from a handyman and an exterminator. Ants in the kitchen. Cabinets and countertop sagging from age, drawers barely open and door hinges worn. Bathroom needs new tile grout and scum removal. Shower fixtures barely functional. Admin staff courteous, friendly and helpful. more

The location, one block from the beach, was excellent. The pool was delightful. The room was clean and fairly well equipped. Our one disappointment was that the full size beds were small and uncomfortable for two adults. Since the rooms are privately owned the furnishings seem to vary. Call ahead if you want a larger bed. Service was efficient but... more

I stayed with my wife and two children under the age of 6 in the second week of June in a one bedroom suite. Each unit is owned seperately in an association. The secluded pool was great for the chidren and the rooms were very cottage like. The beach was a short one block walk. The housekeeping was excellent and... more

We had a great time at the Beachcomber! We were pleasantly surprised. This was our 11th year vacationing in Avalon and have stayed at the Concord all other years. We outgrew the Concord a few years ago and had to start renting 2 rooms. We heard the Beachcomber had two bedroom/two bath suites so we gave it a shot. We... more
