I have read some of the other reviews, I stayed in the room by the name of Saffran - I agree that there was certainly some sand/dust on the floor of the room. Initially our toilet was not working but was fixed exceptionally quickly. Karin and Gero are pleasant hosts. The diving was great - Gero is very laid back... more
We stayed for 3 nights in room 'indigo' towards the end of February 2009. The room was dusty and not too clean, with very gritty floor although the decor was pleasant. The room was on a very noisy T junction with a recurrent intense smell of drains. To get some sleep we had to choose between loud traffic by leaving... more
Made a great change from the large multinational hotels in Sharm which is where our dive group usually stay. Gero and Karin provided a first class service for both the diving and accommodation during our stay and couldn't have been more helpful. A very professional but relaxed dive guide, Gero orgnised an excellent week of diving around the Dahab area,... more
alf leila was the first hotel we stayed in egypt with friendly service and competent staff. they have the best bakery in town and all of their rooms are designed with unique styles. the owner is also a great dive instructor and they also provide yoga classes as well. the only down side is that its not on the beach,... more
I decided to stay there because of an ad that I had seen - it looked - different. Not one of those corporate places - individual - colorful - cozy. When I arrived my feelings were reconfirmed. Mind you, it is a small place - just a few rooms and one cannot help thinking - how do they make money... more
The Alf Leila hotel is am atmospheric and comfortable hotel on the outskirts of Dahab. It lives up to its web site when it says its rooms are individual and exciting. Andy the owner, Ahmed and Abdul who look after the hotel are welcoming and always willing to help. We stayed for one night in the appartment and would not... more
IF you are looking for the singularly best botique hotel expernce in Dahab, look no further. Andy and his team offer up delicious (no, really, the best!) baked goods and meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This bakery is so good, in fact, that I saw all the other diving instructors and locals come to eat here almost everyday! And... more
We stayed in a 2 bedroom flat across the street from the hotel that w arranged with Andy at Alf Leila. the flat wasn't as luxurious as the hotel but exactly what we needed for the time we were there (having your own stove and fridge is priceless). Andy is extraordinarily helpful and a great host. We dived with him... more
We had a great time here. We felt looked after especially during our diving trips. Great rooms and hospitality. We are definitely going to come back and get our advanced diving certificates. The Diving instructors were great, really took their time with us and made us feel safe and welcome, we spent a few evenings hanging out with them, or... more
