Nov 2023 Long Beach Resort (Hurghada/Egypt) I don’t normally write reviews, but after visiting this hotel for now (I think) the 05th time, I think it's about time I wrote a comprehensive full review. I have put a few pictures on here, so I suggest if you want a comprehensive look at all the pools, all the restaurants, the full beach, etc, please visit the Long-beach website The Beach: The Long Beach Hotel is about 15-20mins direct travel from the airport and is aptly named, as it has the longest beach in Hurghada. The 1,100m Private long sandy beach-front, which is the bay of Sahl Hasheesh, on the shores of the Red Sea, has numerous facilities that you can take advantage of You can directly from this beach take a supervised camel or horse ride along the beach. This year I arranged for my wife to take a horse ride along the beach, and I can say that they are very professional, took many pictures and videos of my wife riding the horse in the surf, all the time being well looked after, so a BIG Thank you for that experience. You can take a kite surfing lesson, (or if experienced, just hire the equipment). There is a beach Spa and boat/Island trips, you can book these directly on the beach. The beach has plenty of sun-loungers all with wind breaks. You are each given a beach towel card which you exchange at the hut on the beach or around the pools, for large clean beach towels. The beach and pools also have drinks and lunch food areas, where you can go and sit to have a light lunch & or a drink. “The beach food” hut for its light lunches of pizzas, and sandwiches, deserves a special mention for being very clean, polite staff, and the manager of this area remembers us each time we visit. Drinks can be brought to your sun-lounger all day if you wish. The hotel has recently installed a foam machine on the beach which of course, when it is run, the kids love it (and some adults). The sea water is shallow and is perfect for children. You can walk out into the sea for the first 100ft or so it rises from your ankles to your knees, you can see all the small fish disperse as you continue to walk to the sandbank which is about 100 feet out. Beyond that sandbank it starts to get deeper, so 100ft out from a very large sandy beach, the water getting no higher than your knees, is perfect for just sitting in and cooling off. If you want to swim, you will have to go out bit further or one of the many, many pools available. So the seawater at the beach is perfectly safe for all. The Pools: I have lost count of how many pools they have now, In between our last two visits they have built a further 3 new pools. So I think it's now 7 pools they now have. These include the kid's pool which has of course slides. A swim-up pool, to an infinity pool. You will be spoilt for choice for which one to visit the next day, which of course still has drinks and food facilities available around all those pools. The Restaurants: There are 7 restaurants. One is a dedicated adult-only buffet-style restaurant. Which is a godsend. Yes, we have had our children, they are grown up and all left home, so it's nice that this restaurant does not allow anyone under 12 in it, but don’t worry, ALL the other restaurants also cater to families with young children. There is a Family buffet-style restaurant. The other restaurants are A-La-Carte bookable during your stay restaurants and are Italian, Chinese, Nubian, etc. My favourite changes each time we visit. To this, they have now added a Mexican, which is just below the new Sky bar. The Rooms: Cater for every combination of family or couples-only tourists, from large families that can have adjoining rooms, to couples such as ourselves. They are situated for garden views, sea views, and pool views, there are single stand-alone villas to rooms inside the hotel itself. It has them all. I challenge you to find a room that does not cater to your taste, we always go for the sea view balcony room, and after many visits, the staff and Mr Hassan know exactly the room we require and always accommodate our request. Mentioning Mr Hassan in the last paragraph, I just want to make a special mention to him and say a BIG thank you for arranging the wife's birthday party on the beach, going above and beyond. Thank You for arranging that but also for making our stay, once again, memorable and a great holiday, and this Thank You is extended to Mahmoud Yassein who looked after us every day we visited the beach area. Continuing on the rooms. They are cleaned every day by a team of dedicated male cleaners, fresh bedding is changed, and fresh towels and water are delivered daily. Our Room cleaner was Mohamed Azim, who created all those towel sculptures, Thank You. The rooms have tea and coffee-making facilities, a small fridge, and a “Free” use of a safe. This facility of a free-to-use safe in the room is unheard of in any EU country, where you always have to pay extra for this. Not forgetting the TV, which you would be surprised to hear has some fantastic movie channels, YES, all in English. We always end up making a note of the movie, and looking for it when we get home, where we normally find we have to buy it on Sky Store. Other facilities: There are in the hotel grounds a further gym, a hair salon, games areas (I believe table tennis, etc) gift shops, free Wi-Fi available in the reception area. Tennis courts are also available. the gardens all around the hotel are kept immaculate. As you can imagine with all these pools, restaurants, and facilities, The Long Beach Resort is a very large complex, BUT don’t worry, they even have open-air little buses that travel all over the grounds of the hotel, just hop on one of those and you will get to the restaurants, reception, pools, beach, etc in no time, there are seated bus stops all around the grounds. I am sure there are also plenty I have missed, but I suggest you visit their website to view all the pictures and all the facilities. Very Unique, Very Unusual feature: This hotel has a feature I have never seen at any other hotel, I can't find a picture of it on their website and I can't take someone else's picture for here, in case of copyright, but trust me, it is there, it is a stand-alone, Huge Haunted House, obviously for Halloween. Just Google the hotel and haunted house to see images of it. Its very unique, very cool and I have never seen anything like it at any other hotel. Overall: The staff are polite, very helpful, and genuinely go out of their way to make you, the guest, happy. If you are not sure about something, ASK, they will help. You can have a fully packed holiday or a relaxing holiday, the choice is yours So until our next visit - Hope to see you soon.…
