If you can stomach the guady pink paintwork, the hotel is okay. The rooms are basic and we had no hot water for 3 nights, despite repeated requests for this to be fixed. However, the location is excellent for exploring the St Catherine's monestary and surrounding mountains. It is situated slightly outside St. Catherine's village, so walking to any of... more

There are not that many choices of places to stay in the Mt Sinai, St Catherine area and this was good location. I found the room to be clean and the bedding was adequate. I did not see any bugs at all and did not have any holes and cracks anywhere in the room. After reading some of these reviews,... more

We stayed here in early October 2009 as part of an organised tour. I agree with most of the statements made by other reviewers. I was bitten by mosquitos several times during the couple of hours that we actually slept there before commencing the early morning ascent of Mt Sinai at 2 am, and the beds were uncomfortable - basically... more

The location was great-perfect for access to Mt. Sinai. The views were fantastic...But stay away if you can! Upon arrival we found the overpowering scent of bug spray in our room. The ceiling had gaping holes in it and the bugs could fly in and out under our door! The bathroom floor needed a sump pump when you took a... more

We arrived as part of a large trekking group. The rooms were basic at best, mattresses thin and blanket to match so spent a cold uncomfortable night which was fortunately only a short one as we set off to climb Mt Sinai in the early hours. We were glad of our hiking boots to splosh through the bathroom. Fortunately I... more

Stayed here as part of a group tour. Hotel is very close to Mt. Sinai and St. Catherine's monastery & didn't see many other options available. Sounds like we had a better stay than most other reviewers. We were in building 7, which had been newly renovated and was quite acceptable for a basic stay. Otheres in or group had... more

As others have stated, one of the few saving graces of this hotel was it's proximity to St. Catherine's monastery, that we visited with our tour group the next day. Our room was just like camping indoors. Twin beds with poor mattresses, covered by one threadbare sheet and a blanket. I was too afraid to get into the shower and... more

Most of the experiences in the reviews are accurate. Things have improved slightly. Emphasis on slightly. Here are the downsides of the hotel: o There was no television in most rooms. Some rooms had television but there seemed to be no method for why some had and some did not. o It’s official from the gruff reception: there is no... more

The location of this hotel is very good. A base for the climb to the top of Mt Sinai. The beds were good and the swimming pool looked very attractive although we did not have time to use it. However, here are some of the features we encountered during our one-night stay. *The bathroom sink took a long time to... more

In September 2008, my girlfriend and I stayed at this village as part of our tour (Egypt & Jordan Caravan Holidays with Imaginative Traveller). Prior to arriving at our rooms, the group was advised that we were going to be staying in the newly renovated building. As we entered the new building it appeared as though it was still in... more
