we (myself boyfriend and two friends) chose this hotel mainly because of the diving. We arrived at 6am and was shown straight away to our rooms which had a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. Umbi Village is not your 5 star resorts you find in Nama bay but who wants that anyway!! No hassles here. The dive shop was great... more

My partner and I stayed elsewhere but booked on the open water 3 day training course at Sharks Bay. Mona our instructor was very chilled out, the underwater scenery is amazing and I really enjoyed it. My partner couldn't handle some of the training and pulled out after the first day and they only charged her for a days dive... more

We arrived at about 8PM on a Friday night for our two night stay at Umbi. That first night we had pre-booked the Mt. Sinai hike. We waited for two hours after the scheduled departure until finally the manager told us that he was sorry but the mountain "was closed" and our trip was cancelled. Never mind that another couple... more

We arrived at Umbi in the early evening and at 38c and dripping with sweat and having left a cold and wet England. We checked in at reception(outdoors). We dropped our bags and called in at the bar and met Ali. The local beer ( Sakara) was good then we ate in the restaurant. It was full and we had... more

We stayed in Umbi 1 week from 29 March to 4 April 2009. THE HOTEL enjoys a nice and cozy atmosphere that is made possible by its wonderful staff. No animation, no disco music, no noise, very laid back place with a nice beach bar and a good restaurant. Excellent prices for drinks, food and other stuff to buy at... more

We stayed here in 2008 and had a wonderful time. The hotel is small, chilled out and cosy and we couldn't fault anything. There is a small restaurant which serves good food at lunchtime - wraps, burgers etc although you can also order from the main menu. And fantastic pizzas in the evening amongst other food. Nama bay is about... more

A trip of a life time to come the Sinai Pennisula & Red Sea. Let alone being able to scuba dive too. It was a GREAT week. My husband and I backpacked around Eastern Europe before we traveled to Egypt to scuba dive the Red Sea. Our plan was keep everything on a tight budget and stay on a low... more

I love the place! Umbi diving village have a nice relax atmosphere and only a 15 min taxi drive to the busy Naama Bay if you need nightlife. But the quiet relaxing atmosphere in the evening, a drink or dinner on the beach, makes Umbi special. The beach rooms are fine, simpel but clean and you have everything you need,... more

Definitely not your 5* accommodation, but was perfect for us - a spacious, secure self-catering option right on the waters edge. The staff were very friendly and diving just out of this world! Lots of restaurants nearby with really good food. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wishes to have an independent holiday. more
