My husband and I went to Club Bali Hai for our anniversary and we had a wonderful time. It is a very casual laid back environment. If you are looking for something elaborate, this wouldn't be for you. We stayed in one of the over water bungalows and loved it...we didn't even mind the crab who visited our garden shower... more

This is the second time I have stayed here. Both times in an overwater bungalow...views amazing, breakfast great....that said making us leave our room by 10:30 on the last day, saying that someone was checking in, didn't happen..and the hotel was half empty. My mom and step-dad were offered the use of theirs for the entire day, the day before...... more

This was part of a 6 weeks trip including time in French Polynesia, Cook Islands and New Zealand. We last visited FP in 2000 and therefore were familiar with some locations, including Club Bali Hai. This is a low key property with a magnificent location at Cooks Bay on Moorea’s north coast. It would be a redevelopers dream but for... more

Half the price and just a little less "fluff" of other hotels. We checked in, got our room and we're left to enjoy ourselves. It was the perfect 5 day trip with my 15 year old daughter and my father. We rented scooters one day and a car one day. I would recommend getting scooters on day one of the... more

I stayed for 3 days at Club Bali Hai two weeks ago (September 14-17th). It was my second stop on a French Polynesian adventure (Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora). I had read many reviews and felt like I knew what I was getting into with Club Bali Hai: not the nicest place, but at a good price. Charm over luxury.... more

We stayed (my 17 year old daughter and I) in July. We had an over the water bungalow by the main dock. I thought that might be a problem but it turned out kinda nice because there weren't alot of people there when we were there so it became almost our private dock. A few tourist boats did come to... more

My wife's family as a timeshare here and she has been going there for 15 years. We stay in bungalow 35, which is the best one there. Its not the Sofitel Moorea, and its not a soul-less big hotel on Moorea. It is an older place (built in the 1960's) with character. The restaurant has great breakfast and lunch, and... more

We stayed at Club Bali Hai in June, we had Bure 23. It was dirty and the road noise from the traffic was horendous. The matress on the bed was so old you could count the springs with your body. We had cockroaches and rats in the room. The bay (Cooks Bay) is very murky and unsuitable for snorkling. The... more

We were lucky enough to earn a reward trip, with work, and were being sent to Tahiti for 5 days! Travelling half way around the globe, we were definitely going early and seeing more than just Tahiti. After reading Frommer's Guide, cover to cover, we decided to spend 5 days in Moorea. Thank God we did! Wow, it's a breathtaking... more

Tahiti could, in fact, be one of the most expensive places on the planet to take a holiday. For us, it wasn't a typical choice of destinations, but we were routed though Papeete on a trip from Los Angeles to Sydney with Air Tahiti Nui. To break up the journey, we decided to stay in Tahiti for a week at... more
