Last minute trip to sun ended at this hotel in The Gambia only six hours away and no time differance.. Wow what place. Right on the beach only 59 rooms and staff who were all very pleasant and attentive. No need to fight for sun beds as there was more than one each. Food was good all A La Carte... more

This hotel flatters only to deceive. Lovely grounds with plenty of good comfortable sunloungers and the bedrooms are large and spacious. Plenty of staff too but many are poorly trained and some are on the make (a common complaint in this part of the world). We stayed here for 10 nights having booked through the Gambia Experience and were glad... more

Dear Mr. James, We have just learned of your review and were sorry to read your experience with us was not up to your expectations. Coco Ocean Resort & Spa, even though 1 year old, has 13 years experience behind it thanks to our sister hotel, Coconut Residence, from where many of our staff and supervisors come from. These same...

We stayed in a club villa but not on the sea front, it was a good size room, nice bathroom. Good food, reasonably priced if you eat from the Thai menu. more

We stayed here for a week in an extremely comfortable and spacious sea view villa. You cannot fault the villas but we left feeling a little fleeced having paid top London prices in a country where the avetage wage is £30 a month. It is true that you get what you pay for, but we have stayed in better 5*... more

I visited the Coco Ocean Resort in May 2009. It is a rare find in Africa; a beautifully designed boutique-style hotel that does not lose sight of the real Africa that surrounds it. I stayed in Beach Club Villa 38 which was a gorgeous, completely white room with a huge outdoor verandah and access to the large pool dedicated to... more

When the owners of Coco Ocean opened the Coconut Residence 10 years ago, they took hotels/fine dining in The Gambia to another level. With Coco Ocean, they have done it again - this is a stunning looking hotel, with its whitewashed walls, blue glass windows and Moroccan furniture and fittings, in an excellent and quiet location on the beach. Although... more

We had to change our booking last minute and the management couldn't have been more helpful or accomodating. we were up graded and our room was spacious with an extremely comfortable bed and stunning view. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We were greeted with a pinapple and champagne... more

First of all, we are from Belgium, so sorry if there are some errors in my English. We went to the Coco Ocean from March 12th untill March 23. We had a very good time there, and I assure you that the problems mentionned in the first reviews had to do with the fact that this hotel just started up... more

We had a wonderful holiday the last week of February. The hotel was very nice and tastefully furnished, the room we had was excellent with a view to die for. We found all the staff very helpful and pleasant and they could not do enough for you. The food served in the restaurant was also excellent with a varied choice... more

We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Coco Ocean. We had booked direct with the hotel and from their "2009 soft opening prices" were well aware that the hotel was very new and that there might be teething problems. There were few, and those there were did not warrant complaint. Yes the outside pools are so far... more
