We spent our family holiday at Bijilo Beach this November and couldn't have been more pleased with the level of service , cleanliness and relaxing atmosphere of the place. There is always a poolboy checking on the kids at the children pool at all times, giving me the space and needed peace of mind to catch up on some reading... more

This is the loveliest hotel I've stayed in The Gambia and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bit o peace. There's scenary and fantastic greenery throughout the hotel. Upon Arrival at Bijilo, we were treated like King & Queen. From the wonderful beach to the tasty food, we couldn't get enough. The rooms had all we need... more

Not my first time in The Gambia & certainly won't be my last. Traditionally, I stayed at the Kairaba Beach Hotel, however the amount of hussling from the street boys made us opt for Bijilo Beach Hotel. About a couple o minutes away from Senegambia, the hotel is located off the Atlantic coast line among 3 other hotels. I enjoyed... more

I booked into the hotel for a week for the cost of 1000 dalasis a night. I have known the owner of the hotel for a very long time do not expect any specail treatment as such but therewas no breakfast the rooms where also dirty and even worse no hot water and no air conditioning. In any hotel I... more

Wondered long and hard if I wanted to write a review. It was a quiet nice location. I am not sure if it would be as nice if the hotel was full! It appeared to be less than half full when we were there. Rooms are not of good quality at all. (maybe the newer block is) The card entry... more

This is a great value hotel with a fantastic location on the beach. The grounds and pool area are stunning; immaculately kept and well stocked with flora and fauna. We saw a greater variety of exotic birds in the hotel grounds than at the nature reserve! The rooms were very basic, but clean and a good size. The staff were... more

We think that the Bijilo Beach hotel is just about the optimum hotel in The Gambia at the moment (spring 2008). We went specifically looking for a beach holiday. We didn’t want to be in a crowded area with cheap bars, shops selling tat, false native experiences, etc. On the other hand we did want a bit of comfort and... more

We have been back from the Bijilo hotel in Gambia for a week now and I thought I would give it some time before I put this review on the site. As the site is primarily for reviews of the hotel , I will give our opinions on the Hotel, then our opinion on the resort for those who want... more

We stayed Bijilo as a week getaway and spent most of the time around the pool. Attractions = quiet pool, small resort, friendly staff, close to Kololi for nighttime attractions if you want. Distractions = western food menu not up to scratch. We had a great time here and think their website needs some extra photos as the ones on... more
