Possibly the best place in Goa to meet other travellers. Rooms are clean, everything works in the bathroom, breakfast included, and all of this for a cheap as chips 350 Rs. per night. 10min walk to Vagator beach, and there are restuarants and shops in the immediate vicinity. In the evenings you can grab beers from the fridge for a... More

Absolutely fantastic place to stay! Cannot fault this place at all. Great backpacker vibe here with a variety of rooms (including breakfast). The hostel is a 10 minute walk to the beach which puts it in an ideal location. There is a cool communal area which is great for meeting other travellers. Highly recommended!

The hostel is one of the nicest we have been to in India. More like a proper hostel as we (western) tourists now it. Attracts a fun (partyloving) crowd. The beach at Vagator is in my opinion not the best beach around, but you can rent a scooter for R. 200 a day to get around. Breakfast is good. Just... More

This hostel is a great place to stay in Goa if you're young and doing a bit of travelling. The rooms are clean and reasonably priced, Vagator is a good starting point as there are plenty of other travellers and its easy to find out about parties happening nearby. If you want peace, quiet and relaxation it may not be... More

Having never been to Goa or stayed in a hostel, I was a little dubious, but I really needn't have been. The staff were amazing - everything was always clean and tidy - it was a really sociable fun place to stay. Every consideration had been made to ensure that we had everything that we could have needed - right... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Asterix Hostel was started 2 special characters who wanted Goa to have a real travelers hostel. So, they quit their boring jobs and decided to bring to Goa pieces of their traveling experiences from Brazil to Vietnam…Berlin to UgandaAt *, you will find the perfect atmosphere to supplement your Goan experience. In other words, we will try to keep the frogs out of the showers and hammocks under the coconut trees. Location: with a forest in our backyard, it is not uncommon to run into (literally) monkeys, peacocks, woodpeckers and fireflies at Asterix. So keep those cameras ready! If wildlife is not your thing, the beach is a 10-minute walk and the parties of Anjuna and Baga are along the same stretch of sand. Lazing on the beach can work up quite an appetite; so, our neighbors – Ujwals (Indian), My Place (Italian), Mango tree (midnight munchies), and Jaws (Thai) – ensure your taste buds do not have a dull moment!Policies (the boring but important stuff): We don’t allow anyone below the age of 18. Also, to allow people to mingle at our small hostel, we don’t accept bookings for groups larger than 4 and retain the right to cancel such a booking without refunds. ... more   less
