in two words, DON'T BOTHER second time to Goa so didn't expect a palace, but i certainly expected more than this! arrived 06.00, told we would have to wait until 10am for our rooms, but we could have a 'disused' room to lock out things in. Tired and not in the mood to argue, we were given a room, and... more

We went for my sister in law's wedding and we stayed at the Dona Alcina. Now I have back packed around a lot of Asia and SE Asia so know what basic is like but for what I paid, I did not expect the rooms to be in such a state. Me, my husband, our 2 year old and my... more

Decided to take a quick holiday somewhere hot and via a travel agent was booked into the Dona Alcina Hotel for a week. The whole country was a bit of a cultural shock when I first arrived - cows wandering across the roads, elephants etc but I loved every minute of it. The hotel was much better than I thought... more

Excellent place to stay! The hotel staff were so friendly and the food was amazing. Rooms were very basic, but what do you expect for a 2*. They were also very clean, with clean bedding and towels every day. The Dona Alcina is very central for eating out, with plenty of bars and shops. Hotel had entertainment every evening we... more

the room itself was very basic, maybe a little tatty but it was cleaned every day and clean linen every other day. If you report any thing broken or out of order it was repaired instantly. We had a socket fall of the wall and it was fixed in ten min's. The food here was excellent and always available. The... more

After booking my holiday at my local travel agent I checked the hotel on the net, and was not impressed by the reviews. I don't know why. I arrived at the hotel and was greated pleasently at reception. I upgraded to an air conditioned room with a television for £68-00 for two weeks, and was shown to my room (235).... more

This is my 5TH visit to this hotel apart from the paint job nothings changed. The staff are always helpfull, if you treat them with respect they will bend over backwards to make your holiday one to remember. The pool area is always clean and tidy. The rooms are lets say basic but all the ones I have stayed in... more

We found the Dona Alcina hotel pretty appalling When we arrived in our room it was swarming with ants, literally hundreds of them the staff were pretty miserable it didn't seem very clean and our room was right at the back with a view (if you can call it that) into someones back yard. We would not recommend this place... more
